Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Dualverse, Inc. (“Dualverse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Video Call Santa mobile application for iOS and Android (the “App”), the Video Call Santa website, and related support services.

1. About Video Call Santa

Video Call Santa is a family entertainment app that simulates personalized Santa video calls using pre-recorded content.

All Santa calls, conversations, and interactions in the App are simulated and pre-recorded. There is no live Santa operator, no live video call, and no real-time communication with a live person through the App. No one at Dualverse watches or talks to a child during a simulated call.

The App does not require users to create an account or log in. We seek to minimize the information we handle directly. However, the App uses advertising, hosting, app-store, and infrastructure providers that process certain information as explained below.

2. Information Submitted to Dualverse

Requested Names

If a name is not available in the App, a user may use the Request Name feature. The information submitted through this feature consists of the requested name.

Please submit only the first name or simple name entry needed for this feature. Do not submit a full name, address, telephone number, email address, school name, precise location, or other unnecessary personal or sensitive information.

Requested names are submitted without a Dualverse account or intentionally assigned device identifier. We use them to review requests and improve the App’s name library.

Support Communications

If you contact us for assistance, we receive the information you choose to include in your communication. This may include your email address, message, device or app information, screenshots, purchase receipt, store order number, or other information necessary to investigate and resolve the issue.

Please do not send recordings, photographs of children, or other sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary for us to address your request.

3. Information Processed Automatically

Advertising Information

The App uses Google AdMob to display interstitial advertisements on both iOS and Android. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or process information such as:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate location derived from it;
  • device, app, or advertising identifiers, depending on the platform, configuration, and user settings;
  • app launches, taps, ad views, video views, and other app or advertising interactions;
  • crash, diagnostic, performance, and fraud-prevention information; and
  • device, operating-system, language, and other technical information.

Google processes this information under its own policies and as a service provider or independent third party, depending on the particular processing activity and applicable law. The information processed may vary according to the operating system, Mobile Ads SDK version, geographic location, consent choices, device settings, and advertising configuration. For more information, please review the Google Privacy Policy.

Dualverse does not use requested names, reaction recordings, rendered videos, or support messages to personalize advertisements.

AWS Infrastructure

The App uses Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) infrastructure in the United States. Amazon S3 is used to deliver downloadable App content, including names and episodes. Amazon DynamoDB is used to store requested names.

When a device connects to AWS to download content or submit a requested name, AWS and the systems used to make the connection may process technical connection information such as an IP address, request time, requested resource, and security or diagnostic information. Dualverse does not intentionally associate requested names with a user account or device identifier. For more information, please review the AWS Privacy Notice.

Website Hosting

The Video Call Santa website is hosted by Web Hosting Hub. Dualverse does not intentionally use website analytics, behavioral advertising, public user accounts, comments, newsletters, or contact forms on the website. However, the hosting provider may process technical information necessary to deliver, maintain, and secure the website. This may include IP address, browser and device information, access time, referring page, requested page, and security or diagnostic logs. For more information, please review the Web Hosting Hub Privacy Policy.

4. Information Stored Locally on the Device

Depending on the platform and features used, the App may store the following information locally on the device:

  • reaction recordings and rendered video files;
  • passcode and Parents Only access settings;
  • local app preferences and feature selections;
  • requested-name status information;
  • local notification information;
  • call-reservation information on iOS; and
  • other information needed for local App functionality.

Locally stored information may be lost if the App is uninstalled, app data is cleared, the device is replaced or reset, or local files are otherwise deleted.

5. Reaction Recordings and Rendered Videos

Dualverse does not upload reaction recordings or rendered videos to its servers. These files are created and stored locally on the device, and Dualverse cannot access, view, recover, or delete them.

The App excludes its locally stored recordings from iCloud backup. However, if a user exports or saves a recording to the Photos app, shares it, transfers it, or backs it up using a device, operating-system, cloud-storage, messaging, social-media, or other third-party service, that service may process the recording under its own privacy policy. Such processing is outside Dualverse’s control.

Users are responsible for saving or backing up recordings they want to keep and for obtaining any appropriate consent before recording, saving, or sharing another person’s image, voice, or reaction.

6. Device Permissions

Depending on the platform, device, and features used, the App may request access to:

  • Camera, to display the user on the simulated call screen and create reaction recordings;
  • Microphone, to include sound in reaction recordings;
  • Photos, media, or device storage, to save or export rendered videos;
  • Notifications, for requested-name availability notifications and, on iOS only, call-reservation reminders;
  • Biometric or device authentication, to protect the Parents Only section; and
  • App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS, in connection with advertising functionality in versions that request this permission.

Biometric authentication is performed locally by the operating system. Dualverse does not receive, collect, or store a user’s fingerprint, face scan, biometric template, or other biometric information. The operating system locally determines whether access to the protected section should be allowed.

These permissions are not used by Dualverse to live-monitor users. Users may manage permissions through their device settings, although disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from operating.

7. Notifications and Reservations

Requested-name availability is checked locally against names made available by the App’s server. The related status is stored on the device, and any availability notification is generated locally. No Firebase notification token is used or stored for this function.

Call reservations are currently available on iOS only. Android does not currently offer the call-reservation function. iOS reservation information and reminders are handled locally on the device.

8. Children’s and Family Privacy

Video Call Santa is designed for family entertainment and may be used by children. An adult should install and manage the App, make purchase decisions, supervise a child’s use, and review any recording before it is saved or shared.

The App does not require a child to create an account or provide an email address, telephone number, physical address, precise location, or similar contact information. Users should not include such information in a requested-name submission or support communication.

The Parents Only section is protected by a local passcode or device authentication. This protection restricts access to adult-oriented controls but does not function as an age-verification system for the App as a whole.

Parents or guardians may contact us at contact@dualverse.com with questions or requests concerning information submitted by a child. Because the App has no accounts and name requests are submitted anonymously, we may be unable to connect a particular name request to a specific person or device. We will nevertheless make reasonable efforts to review or delete information when it can be identified.

9. Advertising, Consent, and Tracking Choices

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. Advertising may appear in portions of the App that are accessible to children.

On both Android and iOS, the App presents a privacy message to users in the European Economic Area when an advertising privacy choice is required. On Android, the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (“UMP”) to obtain and manage these choices. The current iOS version presents the privacy message but does not yet include an in-app privacy-options entry point for changing or withdrawing a choice later.

The iOS version may request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. A user may allow or deny that request. Denying tracking permission does not necessarily prevent the display of advertisements or the processing needed to provide, measure, secure, or prevent fraud involving advertisements.

Android users may change available advertising privacy choices through the App’s privacy-options entry point where provided. Until an in-app privacy-options entry point is added to iOS, iOS users who want to change or withdraw an advertising choice must use the applicable iOS privacy, tracking, and advertising settings. Device-level controls may limit certain advertising processing but may not be equivalent to every consent or withdrawal option required under applicable law.

10. Third-Party Services

The App, website, and related services use the following categories of providers:

  • Google AdMob, for advertising, ad measurement, diagnostics, and fraud prevention;
  • Amazon Web Services, including Amazon S3 and Amazon DynamoDB, for App content delivery and requested-name storage;
  • Apple App Store and Google Play, for App distribution, purchases, refunds, store services, and platform functions;
  • Web Hosting Hub, for website hosting and security; and
  • email and support providers used to receive and respond to support requests.

These providers process information according to their applicable terms and privacy policies. Service providers handling information on our behalf are expected to protect it appropriately and use it only for authorized purposes, subject to applicable contracts and law.

The current App does not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase databases, or Google Analytics.

11. How We Use Information

We use information for purposes including:

  • providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the App and website;
  • delivering names, episodes, and other App content;
  • reviewing requested names and improving the name library;
  • determining locally whether a requested name has become available;
  • displaying, measuring, and protecting advertisements;
  • responding to support, purchase, restoration, and refund inquiries;
  • preventing fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical problems;
  • enforcing our Terms of Service and protecting users, Dualverse, and others; and
  • complying with legal, regulatory, accounting, and app-store requirements.

12. How Information Is Disclosed

We may disclose information:

  • to service providers that perform the functions described in this Privacy Policy;
  • to Apple, Google, or other platform providers as necessary for distribution, billing, refunds, platform functions, or compliance;
  • when required by law, regulation, legal process, court order, or governmental request;
  • when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service;
  • when necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of users, Dualverse, or others; or
  • as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate notice and applicable law.

Dualverse does not sell requested names, reaction recordings, rendered videos, or support communications for money. Advertising-related processing by AdMob may be treated as “sharing,” targeted advertising, or a similar activity under certain privacy laws, depending on the SDK configuration, user’s jurisdiction, and applicable legal definitions.

13. Data Retention and Deletion

We apply the following retention practices:

  • Requested names: retained until reviewed and either added or declined, but generally no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to prevent repeated submissions or comply with law;
  • Support communications: ordinarily retained for up to 24 months after the support matter is resolved;
  • Purchase, refund, fraud-prevention, accounting, and legal records: retained for the period required or permitted by applicable legal, tax, accounting, app-store, and dispute-resolution obligations;
  • AWS and website operational or security logs: retained according to the relevant service configuration and only for as long as reasonably necessary for delivery, security, diagnostics, abuse prevention, and legal compliance; and
  • Locally stored information: retained on the device until the user deletes it, clears App data, uninstalls the App, resets the device, or the operating system otherwise removes it.

Google AdMob, Apple, Google Play, AWS, Web Hosting Hub, and other providers may apply their own retention practices to information they process under their respective policies.

Dualverse cannot remotely delete recordings, videos, preferences, reservations, or other information stored only on a user’s device. Users can delete that information directly from the App, Photos app, device storage, or operating-system settings, as applicable.

14. Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning information about you, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent.

You may contact contact@dualverse.com to make a privacy request. We may need sufficient information to understand and verify the request. Because the App does not use accounts and requested names are submitted anonymously, we may not be able to identify information as belonging to a particular person.

Users may also:

  • decline or revoke optional device permissions;
  • disable notifications;
  • manage advertising and tracking settings through the App or device, where available;
  • deny or change iOS tracking permission;
  • delete locally stored recordings, videos, preferences, and App data;
  • delete exported recordings from Photos or other services; and
  • uninstall the App.

Parents and guardians may contact us to ask about information submitted by a child and to request its deletion where it can reasonably be identified.

15. International Processing

Dualverse, Inc. is based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. AWS infrastructure used for App content and requested names is located in a United States West region. The website is hosted in the United States. Google, Apple, email providers, and other service providers may process information in the United States, Republic of Korea, and other countries where they operate.

These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those of the user’s country. Where required, Dualverse and its service providers use appropriate contractual, organizational, or other legal safeguards for international processing and transfers.

16. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect the information we handle. These measures include limiting the information requested, using established service providers, and transmitting App requests using secure connections where supported.

No transmission, storage system, or method of electronic processing is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because recordings, videos, passcodes, reservations, and many App settings are stored locally, users are also responsible for protecting their devices, local files, device backups, and exported content.

17. Purchases and Refunds

Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by Dualverse. Dualverse does not receive complete payment-card information from those stores.

For purchase, restoration, or refund assistance:

  • iOS users should generally use Apple’s applicable support and refund processes; and
  • Android users may contact contact@dualverse.com.

If a user contacts us, we may receive and retain limited purchase information needed to investigate the issue, as described in this Privacy Policy.

18. Third-Party Links and Exported Content

The App or website may contain links to third-party websites, app stores, platforms, or services. We do not control their independent privacy practices.

If a user exports, uploads, messages, posts, or otherwise shares a recording or video through a third-party service, that service’s privacy policy applies to its processing of the content.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, website, service providers, legal requirements, or privacy practices.

When we make material changes, we will provide notice as reasonably appropriate, which may include updating the “Last Updated” date, posting notice on the website, or providing notice in the App. Where applicable law requires consent for a new processing activity, continued use alone will not replace that required consent.
