This Privacy Policy explains how Dualverse, Inc. (“Dualverse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Video Call Santa mobile application, website, and related services.
1. Overview
Video Call Santa is a family entertainment app that simulates personalized Santa video calls using pre-recorded content.
All Santa calls, conversations, and interactions in the App are simulated and pre-recorded. There is no live Santa operator, no live video call, and no real-time communication with a live person through the App. No one at Dualverse is watching or talking to your child through the App during these simulated calls.
We aim to minimize the information we directly collect. However, the App uses third-party services and platform features that may collect, process, or store certain information under their own policies.
2. Information We Collect Directly
We do not require users to create an account or log in to use the App.
We do not directly collect personal information through ordinary use of the App, except as described below.
Requested Names
If you use the Request Name feature to ask for a name that is not already available in the App, we may collect and store that requested name for future App updates and name library improvements.
Please submit only the first name or simple name entry needed for the feature. Please do not submit full names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, or other unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
Because the App does not require account creation, requested names are not intentionally linked to a user account profile.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Certain information may be stored locally on your device to support App functionality, including:
- reaction recordings
- rendered video files
- local passcode or parent-access settings
- local app preferences
- local status information related to requested names, including availability notifications
Locally stored information may be lost if you uninstall the App, clear app data, replace your device, reset your device, or otherwise remove local files.
4. Recordings
Reaction recordings and rendered videos are stored locally on your device only.
We do not store these recordings on our servers and cannot recover them if they are deleted or lost.
You are responsible for saving, exporting, or backing up any recordings you want to keep before deleting the App or erasing local data.
5. Camera, Microphone, Photos, Notifications, and Biometric Permissions
Depending on your platform, device, and the features you use, the App may request access to:
- camera
- microphone
- notifications
- photos, media, or storage
- biometric authentication
- tracking permission on iOS for ad-related tracking choices
These permissions are used to support features such as:
- showing the user on the call screen
- recording reaction videos
- saving rendered videos locally
- sending reservation-related notifications
- protecting the Parents Only section
These permissions are not used by Dualverse to live-monitor users.
6. Children’s Privacy and Family Use
Video Call Santa is a family app and parental supervision is recommended when children use it.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through normal use of the App, except where a user submits a name through the Request Name feature.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of the App and should ensure that no unnecessary personal information is submitted through the App, support channels, or any name request submission.
7. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party service providers and platform providers that may collect, process, or receive information according to their own privacy policies and technical operations.
These may include:
- Google AdMob for advertising
- Firebase for certain Android-related backend or database functions
- AWS or other infrastructure providers as services are migrated or updated
- Apple App Store and Google Play for app distribution, billing, device-level platform services, and related operations
These third parties may change over time as we update, replace, or migrate our services.
We do not control third-party privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
8. Advertising and Tracking
The App may display ads through third-party advertising providers such as AdMob.
Third-party advertising services may collect or process information such as device identifiers, advertising-related data, approximate location derived from IP address, crash information, performance information, and interaction data, depending on platform, SDK behavior, user settings, and applicable policies.
On iOS, the App may request permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework in connection with advertising-related functionality.
9. How We Use Information
We may use the limited information we directly handle to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the App
- review and maintain requested name submissions
- expand and update the name library
- respond to support inquiries
- address purchase restoration issues, especially on Android
- comply with legal obligations
- protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of the App, our users, and our services
10. How Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information that we directly collect through the App.
We may share information:
- with service providers that help us operate the App or support our services
- with platform providers such as Apple or Google where necessary for app distribution, billing, or compliance
- with advertising, technical, infrastructure, analytics, or backend partners as needed for their service functions
- when required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental request
- when necessary to investigate fraud, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, or security
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction
11. Data Retention
We may retain requested name submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to support future App updates and name library improvements, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
Information stored locally on your device remains there until it is deleted by you, removed when app data is cleared, lost through device reset or deletion, or otherwise removed from your device.
Support communications and records relating to purchase restoration, technical support, or legal compliance may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
12. International Processing
Dualverse, Inc. is based in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Information that we or our service providers handle may be processed in South Korea and in other countries where our service providers, cloud providers, partners, or platform providers operate.
By using the App, you understand that information may be processed outside your jurisdiction, subject to applicable law.
13. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect the information we directly handle. However, no method of transmission, storage, or electronic processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because many App files and settings may be stored locally on your device, protecting your device, backups, and local storage is also your responsibility.
14. Your Choices
Depending on your device and platform, you may be able to:
- decline certain device permissions
- disable notifications
- manage ad-related settings
- choose whether to grant tracking permission on iOS
- delete locally stored videos and App data
- uninstall the App
Please note that disabling certain permissions or deleting local data may limit App functionality.
15. Purchases and Refunds
Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, not directly by Dualverse.
For purchase or refund issues:
- iOS users should generally use Apple’s applicable processes

16. Third-Party Links
The App or website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of those third parties.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by updating the “Last Updated” date, through the App, on our website, or by other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the App after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
